To brew with the AeroPress, we reccomend you throw caution to the wind and completely disregard any instructions the package provides. Instead we reccommend the "inverted" or "up-side-down" method.
Begin by placing a filter into the filter holder and attaching it to the bottom chamber. Place the bottom chamber over your cup and halfway fill it with just off boiling water. Attach the plunger and press the water through. This step is to rinse the filter, and to preheat the AeroPress and mug.
Remove the filter holder and then extend the plunger as far out as it will go. Turn the AeroPress upside down and let it rest on the plunger base.
Add your ground coffee (we suggest 18 grams ground for a cone filter) and then your water (just off the boil) until nearly full.
Give the coffee and water three quick clockwise stirs and then three quick anticlockwise stirs. Now fill to brim with water, start a timer for 50 seconds, and attach the filter and filter holder.
When your timer hits 50 seconds CAREFULLY and swiftly flip the unit over and onto your cup and begin pressing with a medium amount of force.
Press smoothly and consistently, aiming to finish at around one minute and 20 seconds.
