When planted in the sub-tropics and at high altitudes (1,600 M.A.S.L.) it produces a coffee with pronounced floral aroma and a distinct clarity in the cup. Creamy body, and brilliant acidity with flavors of black tea, milk chocolate, and tropical fruits. This coffee was grown by Rigoberto and Luis Herrera on the Granja La Esperanza (Hope Farm). More Specifically, the coffee was grown on the sub plot is called "El Paraiso" which is planted exclusively with the Gesha variety. The coffee is hand picked by experienced pickers who are paid by the day as opposed to by the pound. This removes any temptation to pick anything but the ripest healthiest cherry further increasing quality. The coffee is then pulped within 6 hours of being picked before moving on to further meticulous wet-processing, and carefully controlled mechanical drying. This amazing coffee was even represented as one fo the six best coffees of this year as judged by the United States Roasters Guild of the Specialty Coffee Association of America.
